Marching Into Our Second Year
A highlight of our children's programming in February was a story hour visit
from Curious George and his friend in the yellow hat.
Our stalwart supporters, the Friends of the Edgartown Library, will help us celebrate the milestone of our first anniversary here with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. We hope to see you then.

We have so much to celebrate.

For all of us here at the Edgartown Library, the memories of March 21, 2016 are still vivid. We opened that Monday morning in a building that was almost as new and unfamiliar to us, the librarians, as it was to you, the patrons we serve.

It's been a whirlwind year of learning how to tap the possibilities presented by a wonderful new facility that opens up so many fresh opportunities for expanding this library's services and public programs. We're still learning, and we especially appreciate hearing from you with suggestions about how we can serve you better.

Lisa Sherman,
Director

The library's 2016 summer music series on the lawn was another highlight of our first year. Here, a crowd gathered to enjoy the music of Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish. Read below for news of his dance event at the library on March 31.

Opera Club Doubles Up in March
With One New Program, a nd a Replay

Library Book Group Meets
Wednesday, March 15,  at 4 p.m.

The Edgartown Library book group, facilitated by author Jean Stone, will gather at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, to discuss Hillbilly Elegy, the celebrated new book by J.D. Vance.

Hillbilly Elegy, writes the Wall Street Journal, is " a beautiful memoir, but it is equally a work of cultural criticism about white working-class America.... [Vance] offers a compelling explanation for why it's so hard for someone who grew up the way he did to make it . . . a riveting book."

Ask us to reserve a book for you and join in the conversation. This is a drop-in group, and all are welcome.
