Destination Imagination

The Destination Imagination Regional tournament is coming up this  Saturday, February 18th from approximately  8:00 - 4:00 at Maple Grove High School. Destination Imagination (DI) is an extra curricular activity that is open to all students.  This year, Wayzata DI will be represented by over 250 students.

DI is a world-wide problem solving competition where students form teams of 7  that work together to creatively solve various problems within the framework of cost, space and technical limitations.  The teams have been working very hard over the past few months perfecting their solutions to one of seven challenges.  They are looking forward to showcasing their work at the regional tournament.  There will be a program with specific times and locations of team's performances.

Kids' College - We need YOU!

Kids' College is an annual event in which Birchview students register for classes that introduce them to new interests, hobbies, cultures or vocation possibilities.  The format for the event allows each child to participate in two different classes, each of which is 45 minutes in length.  The more variety in the classes offered, the more enjoyable the event is for the kids.

We need your help and want to encourage you to be a part of this year's Kids' College.  Don't let words like teach, professor, or college scare you.  Come and share an interest, hobby, or your vocation with your children's friends and classmates.  The instructors do not have to be Birchview parents.  If you know someone who would be willing to teach a class, please let us know.

The following is a list of ideas and suggestions for Kids' College classes, but you are not limited to this list.  Be creative!  What classes would your child and their friends like to see offered at Kids' College?
