Wondering how to survive another week of winter cabin fever?  Tulsa Master Gardeners are coming to your rescue.  Months of planning and preparation come together for four days in Mid-March for the HBA Home and Garden Show.  March 9th through the 12th, MGs will showcase a variety of gardening ideas and research based information which will motivate our visitors to create their own green space.  For more details, click HERE.

   

Planting seeds is much cheaper than purchasing potted plants and you will buy seeds for many more varieties than you will find for sale as plants. There are a wide range of options and, whether your propensity is for veggies or flowers, you can truly reap what you sow. With spring right around the corner, it is time to plant the first of the cool weather vegetables. Our quickly changing weather makes it hard to predict just when to plant but, with a little planning, you should be able to tackle most challenges.  Read THIS to find out more about Cool Season Vegetables.

Spring has come early this year, and many of you may see leaves coming out on your roses already.  It is not too late to prune your roses and you should also begin to think about spring control of insects, cankers, and black spot.   Click   HERE  to read more details about this. 

Fruit trees can be grown successfully in Oklahoma, but they do require planning and care. Before planting, carefully consider appropriate tree and site selection, soil, moisture and pollination needs. Continued care entails a rigorous spray schedule for disease and pests and diligent shaping and pruning for optimal fruit production.

The Tulsa Master Gardener Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization.  As such, it receives no city, state or federal funding for its Tulsa community outreach programs. In fact, the majority of Tulsa's Master Gardener programs are self-funded by its members. We need your help..

Tulsa Master Gardener's own fundraisers make up most of the income to cover expenses. More specifically, a significant portion comes from the Tulsa Master Gardener Annual Spring Plant Sale that is held each April. Other fundraisers include the Garden Tour (June) and "Garage Sales" that occur from time to time. Finally, one of the most important income sources that sometimes gets overlooked are the personal and corporate donations.  These are so important in helping to meet our financial obligations and we want you to know they are very much appreciated.
