The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has
released maps showing where the combined and separate sewer systems are for each of the 21 CSO cities in the state.
People who live, work, and play in any of these cities can now find out if they contribute directly to
combined sewer overflows!
Below: The area shown in blue is served by Newark's antiquated sewer system, which treats stormwater and wastewater together and can discharge raw untreated sewage during wet weather events.
The area shown is yellow is served by the more modern system which treats stormwater and wastewater separately.

Members at Work
Developers convention to address "Why Green Infrastructure?" At the Atlantic Builders' Convention,
New Jersey Future and the New Jersey Builders Association will debut new resources and tools to help developers and their design professionals learn about, finance, and build high-quality, cost-effective green stormwater infrastructure.

Jersey Water Works members from the Association of Environmental Authorities, Sustainable Jersey, New Jersey League of Municipalities and Rutgers University School of Environmental and Biological Sciences partnered with the Municipal Outreach Committee to explain how municipalities and utilities can work together to conduct/implement water loss audits, utility asset management and green infrastructure planning and implementation.

Committee Work Plan Development: Incorporating equity into our work
The Jersey Water Works committees met over January and February to brainstorm what they'll work on in the coming year. In those discussions, they applied an equity lens, seeking to ensure that everyone will benefit from the work and have a say in key decisions. Stay tuned for the the 2017 Work Plan release in early March.
