 Please find below a listing of all of the Self Help Inc. CFCE community based programs scheduled for APRIL 2017!!  All programs provided are FREE for families!

 

Programs are organized below by age level.  Some programs are appropriate for more than one age level, and are listed in ALL appropriate age sections.  What is the difference between multi-session groups and multiple sessions?  

 
Multi-Session groups:  Multi-session groups typically run for consecutive weeks, and require that you sign up in advance for all sessions.  They can run from 3 weeks to up to 10 weeks.
Multiple Sessions:   This means that the same program will be held on multiple dates and locations.  Each session is individual and you can register for just one or more!

Drop-In Playgroup (multiple sessions)
Moms, Dads, and caretakers of young children...Come join Carol Carver - Early Childhood Support Specialist-from Self Help, Inc. STORYWALK @ YMCA Playground area in East Bridgewater

Drop by for this parent-child activity (weather permitting)!!!   Drop by anytime with your child(ren) at the playground area at the EB YMCA between 10:30-11:30 on April 19, 2017 to do a Story Walk!!! The playground is located off to the side of the building. Enjoy time to play at the playground and then when individual families are ready to start the walk they can sign in at the STARTING POINT SIGN on the outskirts of the playground area. This will begin your FUN journey of combining a children's story with a walking route outdoors!!! Feel free to bring a stroller if you'd like and we hope you participate at the end of the Story Walk by doing a related art project with your child(ren) or you can choose to bring it home.  NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED-DROP IN!

Toddler Group (multiple sessions)
The Toddler Groups are a FREE one hour play time for children ages 15 months to 36 months and their parent/guardian. The children will participate in Free Time, Story Time, Art Activity and music and movement. Preschool Read and Rise program @ Middleboro Public Library

Help your child prepare for reading, learning and life! Come to the Read and Rise Playgroup!  This FREE 5 session playgroup/conversation series is designed to empower families to support children's literacy development. Children and parents will be actively engaged in books, songs, activities and hands on materials that focus on literacy. Each family will go home with a different children's book every week to keep and add to their library at home! This program is designed for children ages 3-6 years old.  Families must be willing to commit to the 5 weeks (scheduled vacations and illnesses are an exception). If you are unable to attend this group for any reason please call or email me to cancel your registration. Preschool Play and Learn (multiple sessions)
Preschool play and learn in a monthly parent child group. Activities include free play, circle time and crafts. Each group offers floor and table activities. Children will have the opportunity to play together as well as individually. Preregistration is required for this group. Registration will be available 2 weeks prior to the start date. Let's CREATE and Build Sand Sculptures Together @ Middleboro Public Library (multiple sessions)

REGISTER for this parent-child activity with the Children's Librarian at 508-946-2470 (EACH MONTH).  This is a monthly program occurring on the first Monday of each month (except Jan).  Space is limited!!! Put on your engineering hats and come join us for some FUN in the parent & child activity, 
LET'S CREATE AND BUILD SAND SCULPTURES TOGETHER!!! 
This group will engage everyone..parents & 3-5 year olds in:
* parachute play
* Mystery Box
* Story, song and movement   THEN
* creating a plan with the suggested materials and theme
*design your sand sculpture using various tools and a lot of creativity!!!

Preschool Silly Science and Mystical Math (multiple sessions)
Silly Science and Mystical Math is a monthly STEM parent/child program designed to provide age appropriate hands on activities for preschool aged children.  Children will explore a variety of interesting topics throughout the year.   Registration each month is required and space fills up quickly. Silly Science for preschool is suited for children age 3-5 years old.   This parent/child program has lots of hands on fun activities that promotes learning and exploration. flying carpet Magic Carpet Book Club: World Travel Edition! @ Canton Public Library (multiple sessions)

This year we will hop on our Magic Carpets and take a trip around the world!  We learn how children live in other lands! At this MONTHLY GROUP will travel to a different continent and learn about the people and wonders of the land.  We will meet children from all over the world and find out about their day.  Using videos, books, and an awesome 3-D atlas we will travel the World.  Each month we will compete a simple craft or play games from the places we visit.  Children who have visited or have family in the countries we visit are encouraged to share their experiences.  There will be artifacts from some of the countries we visit for children to explore.   Each child will receive a "passport" and place a stamp form each country we visit.  The children will be engaged in geography, science and social studies lessons.  This program is for school age children in grades K-4.   You must pre-register for each month.   Contact the library at 781-821-5027 for more information and to register.  
Silly Science and Mystical Math (multiple sessions)
Would you like to think like a scientist? Join us for Silly Science and Mystical Math.  Each month we will explore a different STEAM concept.  Each family will receive a packet of information to continue the exploration at home.  This program is designed for school age children grades K-4 and their caregivers.  Contact the libraries below to register  This program needs a minimum of five students in order to run so register today! It is proven that children are being bullied as young as 2-3 years old today. Come and learn how to arm your child against the influences of bullies and how not to raise a bully.
