Media Tour Comes to Georgina!

Central Counties Tourism hosted a media tour in Georgina from February 21-23. Bloggers from the GTA and British Columbia ventured to experience the Tourism product in Georgina.

Members from the media started off with a First Nations Storytelling workshop at the Briar's Resort and Spa by Lauri Williamson followed by a tour of the facilities.

The following day the attendees took part in an Ice Fishing excursion by Snake Island Fish Huts on Lake Simcoe. Afterwards there was a guided tour of the Georgina Pioneer Village by Melissa Matt and an exciting snow tubing experience at The ROC

The tour finished off on the third day with a lunch/cooking lesson from Cori's Cafe at The Link in Sutton and then the guests boarded their shuttle back to Toronto.

The Town of Georgina was extremely excited that the tour took place and to have the media Discover Georgina!

The Regional Municipality of York, with the support of the York Region Agricultural Advisory Liaison Group, is developing an agriculture and agri-food strategy to provide direction for the long-term growth of the agricultural and food production sector in York Region.
Producers, processors and other food production-chain members in York Region are encouraged to participate and provide input through an  online survey. The survey will be available until the end of March.

As part of the stakeholder engagement, telephone interviews may also be conducted as needed. All participant comments will give focus to the challenges and opportunities that may be pursued in this strategy.
