President's Comments
As I read this morning's edition of the News & Advance, I noted four positive articles regarding Appomattox.  Two local young men, Chase Mayberry and Bruce Shober, are mentioned for excelling in baseball and golf respectively at Hampden-Sydney College.  Kudos to them and wishes of continued success.

A third article outlines progress that is continuing on the disbursement of aid to help victims of last year's tornado in re-constructing their lives.  As these funds flow into our community, they not only help the individuals affected by the tragedy, they benefit us all.

Finally, a nice article devoted to the upcoming construction of a multi-use park on Courtland Field.  Such a park will not only provide the community with an added leisure venue but it will enhance the attractiveness of and the perceived quality of life available in Appomattox.  Such perception is important in attracting new business and residents to our community.

On a different subject, the Chamber is scheduling a business improvement seminar to be held in late April or early May.  Details will be published within the next couple of weeks.
