Anza Around the World


Anza Around the World
Feb 6 -Feb 16, 2017

Anza around the World is here! On Thursday, February 9th, "A Chinese acrobatic/musical performance company "Chinatown Center" will come to Anza for two special assemblies in the cafeteria. K-2 assembly will at 10:30 and grades 3-5 assembly will be at 11:15am

Classroom presentations by our volunteer presenters begin on Monday, Feb 6 and end Friday, Feb 16. Each classroom will have the opportunity to see at least 1 presentation. The presentations are about 30-45 minutes long and include verbal/visual information, plus hands-on activities such as games, crafts or learning a dance. There are 11 presenters representing the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Belize, China, Korea, Italy, Lebanon, St. Lucia, Thailand and Egypt.

The students will have the opportunity to play a guessing game, called "Where in the World is Eddie?" during 10:15am recess on Feb 7, Feb 14 and Feb 16.

To end off Anza Around the World, the International Fair will be held on Thursday, Feb 16, 1:50pm to 4:00pm in the Anza cafeteria. Students will travel from booth to booth, learning about different countries and their cultures.

The students will be sure to have a wonderful multi-cultural experience this year.

Anza Science Fair

e are looking for volunteers to help during the STEAM Fair.
V olunteers are needed on Tuesday, Mar 21st from 8:30 AM until around 11:30 AM. Coffee, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

Come out and have some fun!
Feb. 23rd is PTA Member's Family Bingo Night. Come have fun, play bingo and win prizes! Free to all PTA members.  Fun starts at 5:30pm, support the 5th graders! They will be selling food and drinks.

Spelling Bee


Anza will be completing class competitions with 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The dates will vary in February in the classrooms. The district final is for 4th and 5th only on March 2, 2017.
