WEEKLY HIGHLIGHT

The Doane Academy community came together on Friday, February 24th, for our annual fundraising event, the Taste of the Best, which featured twenty regional food and drink establishments sharing samples of their delicious creations.  This event also featured a silent auction of a number of exciting items and offers.  All funds raised went to our Scholarship Fund.  You can still help our present and future students, via a contribution to the Scholarship Fund, by following this link.  Thank you, everyone, for your generous support.

Read Across America
And Celebrating the Birthday of Dr. Seuss
 
This Friday, March 3rd, the lower school students (primary through 5th grade) will be participating in the Read Across America Program and celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss. 
    
Children of these grades are invited to share in the fun by wearing or bringing the following items on that day:
  •      Bring a favorite Dr. Seuss book to read
  •      Wear crazy socks (remembering the story, Fox in Socks)
  •      Wear a Dr. Seuss hat (remembering the story, The Cat in the Hat) or a sill hat
  •      Wear a costume depicting a favorite Dr. Seuss character or
  •      Wear a costume depicting a character from another favorite book
   Note: students are required to wear their regular uniform to school on this day, unless they are wearing a character costume from a particular book.

You can now buy your tickets to our spring production.  Please see this flyer for instructions.

You may still place an ad or note of congratulations in the play's program.  The deadline for these items is Friday, March 3rd.  Please use this form to create your ad and/or note.

Show dates are March 22nd - 25th, and we are still looking for student and parent help during the shows, back stage and front of house. We are also looking for various people to head up committees prior to show dates to work behind the scenes. Brenda Maneri is heading up the parent/community help outreach. Anyone who wants to help can contact Ginger Agnew at [email protected] and she'll pass your contact info on to her.

***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** Those wishing to purchase lunch on an individual day basis, your lunch order and money MUST be turned in to Mrs. Sieb at the front desk first thing in the morning of that day, so that the proper amount of food may be ordered and prepared.  Payments can not be accepted after 10:30am.
