LOUISVILLE - The Congregational Ministries Publishing (CMP) ministry of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and GenOn Ministries have launched a newfound collaboration in order to support more churches with the best educational resources available.

"Partnering with denominations and other organizations to reach further with our resources is exciting," said Liz Perraud, executive director of GenOn Ministries, a 50-year old nonprofit organization whose mission is to equip faith communities for Christian discipleship  through intergenerational relationships. "We all want the same thing-to equip and support church leaders and volunteers in their ministry. Working in collaboration with Congregational Ministries Publishing helps us do that well."
The relationship between the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and GenOn Ministries goes back over 50 years. GenOn, previously known as Youth Club and The LOGOS Ministry, sprang up as a grassroots organization of Beulah Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Rev. Dale Milligan, the organization's founder, envisioned developing disciples of Jesus Christ by training and resourcing churches in dozens of Christian denominations in their ministry with children and youth.
To inaugurate the partnership, Mark Hinds, publisher of CMP, is leading the project to revise GenOn's  Faith for Life Bible study curriculum. In addition to  Faith for Life, CMP is also offering GenOn's resources for midweek ministry and intergenerational ministry.
In the our Presbytery, there are two GenOn Ministries Partner Churches who host midweek LOGOS ministries. LOGOS is a time for Bible study, a family-style meal, recreation and worship arts in a setting of inter-generational relationships. Both churches welcome visitors to experience LOGOS!

Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton meets for LOGOS on Tuesday evenings with preschoolers through 8th graders and on Sunday evenings with high schoolers. Their LOGOS ministry has about 45 children and youth and more than 30 volunteers. Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church in Columbia meets on Wednesday nights for preschoolers through high schoolers, with about 95 children and youth and about 70 volunteers. GenOn Executive Director Liz Perraud is an elder at Christ Memorial. LOGOS is a time for Bible study, a family-style meal, recreation, and worship arts in a setting of intergenerational relationships. Both churches welcome visitors to experience LOGOS!

For more information about GenOn and LOGOS email
