FAU President's Gala

Join us for an evening of fun for a good cause. The 2017 FAU President's Gala will feature gourmet dining, live entertainment, exciting auction items, fireworks and more.

Since 2011, the annual FAU Gala has raised more than $2.6 million to help current and future Owls fulfill their academic dreams, thanks to generous sponsors, donors and attendees. More than 800 alumni, friends, faculty and staff attended last year's event. They hope to break that record this year.

10th Annual Florida Venture Early Stage Capital Conference
Thurs. & Fri. May 18-19
The Florida Venture Forum is calling for early stage companies to apply to present at the 2017 Florida Early Stage Capital Conference .

FAU Tech Runway venture class companies have had major success with this event in the past.
 
Last year Candidate.Guru (Venture Class 3) took first place, winning $100,000, and Symptify (Venture Class 4) took second place, winning $30,000.

Candidate.Guru Featured in the Sun Sentinel
Venture Class 2 company, Candidate.Guru, was featured in an article by the Sun Sentinel. The start-up has  completed a $1.1 million financing round, topped off by $300,000 from The Florida Institute for Commercialization of Public Research, which operates out of Gainesville and Boca Raton.

Candidate.Guru is a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for human resources. Founded in 2014, Candidate.Guru delivers talent mapping and pipelining applications designed to vastly improve the hiring process for companies.

Mind&Melody Makes it to Round 4 in Competition
Congrats to Mind&Melody for making it to Round Five and the final four non-profits in the Brackets For Good competition.  The team that wins Round Six, the "Ultimate Championship," receives an additional $10,000 from a corporate sponsor.

Mind&Melody, a Venture Class 4 non-profit organization, is using music to improve the quality of life for people experiencing dementia, Alzheimer's and other neurocognitive impairments.

EagleEye Intelligence Poised for Success
Scott Adams, an  FAU Tech Runway Advisory Board member and Venture Class 1 graduate,  was recently featured in Florida Trend magazine's Southeast Florida roundup.  Adam's company, EagleEye Intelligence, won $50,000 in Florida Venture Forum's 2016 VentureTech  Showcase .

The start-up combines equipment such as drones with sensors, analytics and a proprietary software platform called Strax.
