"Building a firm foundation through Christ-centered education"

flowers_thankyou4.jpg
We are looking forward to a fantastic evening celebrating 30 years of "Building a firm foundation through Christ-centered education" in the hearts and minds of our students...and giving glory to God for His goodness towards MCS.

Thank you to our Auction Chair Natalie Hill and Auction Operations Lead Stephanie Harrington for their leadership in putting together this evening's celebration. Thank you also to the entire Anniversary Gala Committee and volunteers for their hands on labor of love to make this evening's event second to none.

You can participate whether or not you attend. Log on to: http://mariners17.gesture.com. Look for photos in next week's E-Newsletter.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

"May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us, may the hand of God protect us, may the Word of God direct us." Saint Patrick

This Week's Elementary Chapel - God's Treasure

What would you do if you found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow? Using the fun premise of the St. Patrick's Day holiday, Mrs. Pfaff's second grade class presented a skit that made the students think about what God wants us to value as true "treasure." Matthew 6:19 compares earthly versus heavenly treasure, and the condition of our hearts as we make decisions about possessions. The students closed the chapel leading worship with the song "Treasure Quest" by Jana Alayra.

We are proud of the second graders for their chapel leadership!

Family Question for St. Patrick's Day: What does our family value as treasure?

2017 Evening of Honor

For the 7th and 8th graders, the 2017 Evening of Honor was a night they will forever remember, as their "Return to the Golden Era" was filled with excitement, fun, laughter, and dancing! A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Evening of Honor Committee of moms who dedicated countless hours and tireless work into making this evening special: Stacie Brewster, Lorna Laskey, Karin Lombardo, Leslie Ryan, and Janet Mitchell! We would also like to thank all of the moms who helped in the transformation of the auditorium into a scene from the Roaring 20's. We couldn't have done it without you!

All photos taken from the event will be posted on a Schoology page  for your viewing next week. But here is a sneak peek...(above).

Student Success Center
Did you know the middle school has a Student Success Center? The goal of SSC is to support students in achieving academic goals by providing homework help and strengthening skills in organization, time management, and test preparation. We want to teach students strategies that will help them achieve success in both their academic careers and for the rest of their lives beyond MCS. Students who want to take advantage of this tremendous resource can stop by the SSC located upstairs next to the administration office to meet Mrs. Willis, receive more information, and sign up for the after school help. The SSC is open to students during the following times:
  • Monday: 3:00-4:00
  • Tuesday: 3:00-4:00
  • Thursday-3:00-3:30
To provide the best support, it is imperative students sign up prior to attending. We are excited to provide this great resource to our students and are thrilled to work with students throughout the year!
