Councilmember Sell is scheduled to review the bills for the March 7, 2017 City Council meeting.   

Community Development Department Moves to New Offices
The Community Development Department has completed its move to new offices on the City Hall Campus. 

The department, which includes the building inspection, planning and zoning functions of the City, has moved to the former police station at 8110 Park View Blvd., which is the upper floor of what is also Fire Station 4. 

All inquiries regarding building plan review and inspections, as well as planning and zoning can go directly to Community Development at 402-593-6400. 

The new Community Development offices are located southeast of City Hall and can be easily accessed from the City Hall parking lot. 
Water Main Replacement Project Underway
Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) will begin a water main replacement project along Park View Boulevard from 81st Street to 85th Street and then south to Birch Drive. Also included will be Valley Road, just west of Park View. 

Work on this project began March 1 and will continue for several months.
Spring Clean-Up Days Scheduled for April 28-29
La Vista's annual Clean-Up Days will be Friday, April 28 and Saturday April 29. All residents, including residents in La Vista's extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction, are encouraged to take advantage of this free disposal service by bringing discarded items to the Public Works Facility, 9900 Portal Road. Hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten
Join us on Thursdays in March (9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th) at 10:30 a.m. for stories and activities designed to help parents interact with their child in order to promote skills needed for kindergarten.

Come once or attend every week, it's up to you! The program is geared towards children who will be entering kindergarten during the 2017-18 school year.
Small Smart Business Network
The Small Smart Business Network meets at the Library the first and third Tuesdays in March at 5:30 p.m. 

This is a networking group designed to help with questions about small businesses and the group is open to the public.

Registration deadline approaching for many spring youth sports
The deadline to register for the following sports is this Saturday, March 18. Don't miss out. Register today!
  • Baseball - Mustang, Bronco and Pony (ages 9-14)
  • Co-Ed Flag Football (Grades K through 6)
  • Soccer Clinic (3 year olds)
  • Soccer Academy (ages 4 and 5) 
  • Soccer League (ages 6 and 7)
Deadline approaching for our youth Softball programs
Register your child by March 25 for one of our youth softball programs!

We are still taking registrations for the following divisions: Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Jr./Sr.
Adult Softball League Registration Open
Register your team today for our Adult Softball League! The deadline to register is March 25. 

Leagues: Coed, Coed Open, Men's and Double-Header
Fees:    Coed & Men's: $215 (separate $50 check, forfeit deposit fee)
            Double-Header: $420 (2 separate $50 checks, forfeit deposit fee)
 
Registration Deadline: Registration will run February 1 through March 25 or until leagues are full. Coed League will be held on Sunday & Friday evenings; Coed Open Competitive League will be held on Thursday evenings; Men's League will be held on Sunday, Tuesday & Friday evenings; Double-Header League will be held on Thursday evenings.

Book Time for Grown-ups
Storytime isn't just for kids anymore! 

Join us at the Senior Center/Community Center on Fridays at 10 a.m. to listen to an assortment of stories and poems.
