Governor Hogan Supports Fracking Ban

March 17, 2017

Folks,

In an unanticipated press conference Governor Larry Hogan announced his support of a state-wide fracking ban.  He was joined by Senator Bobby Zirkin the ban bill's sponsor and longtime champion to ban the industry within Maryland boarders.

"One of the major environmental concerns in Maryland has been the potential for fracking," Hogan begins.  Even with what he deemed the toughest regulations in the Nation, "We must take the next step from virtually banning fracking through the regulatory process to actually banning it.  The choice to me is clear.  Either you support a ban on fracking, or you are for fracking."

Hogan continues by saying, "Today, I would like to lend my full support for a fracking ban.  The possible environmental risks, simply outweigh any potential benefits.  I urge members of the legislature on both sides of the isle in both houses to come together and finally put this issue to rest once and for all.  Protecting our clean water supply is critically important to Marylanders, and we simply cannot allow the door to be opened for fracking in our state."

Your POA will keep you posted on further developments on this important topic as they become available.

  Cheers,

Bob Hoffmann
President
