Get to Know Your New Committee Members:
We began introducing our new Zone 6 Committee Members last month and continue this month! They are already working hard for the zone. Take a minute to get to know them, and stay tuned for more introductions next month.

Elizabeth Conyers , of Blue Grass, Iowa, is an amateur owner and rider. She's been involved in the sport since 1987 and before that she was an eventer and fox hunter. Her goal on the committee is to improve access and education locally and throughout the zone. Outside the sport she enjoys traveling. If she could have dinner with one equestrian she would choose Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum because she has been watching her ride for years and thinks she is a fabulous rider.

Rae Doerring , of Des Moines, Iowa, is a trainer who teaches lessons to people of all ages. With her family also in the business, she's been involved in the sport all of her life. As a committee member she wants to participate in the governing process as much as possible and be active in helping to get things done. Outside the sport she enjoys watching her son play baseball and camping with her family. If she could have dinner with any equestrian she woud have dinner with Michael Matz because Jet Run was her favorite horse growing up.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Kieffer,  of Maple Grove, Minnesota, has been involved in the sport since she started riding at 11 years old. She has been showing horses for nearly 50 years, and tends to buy horses young and keep them for a long time. She has been involved in governance for many years serving on multiple boards including the Minnesota Hunter and Jumper Association and other USHJA committees. As a Zone 6 committee member she hopes to represent the zone and ensure that members are able to participate like all of the other zones in various USHJA programs. Outside of the sport she enjoys spending time swimming, sailing, canoeing and fishing at her family's lake in northern Minnesota. She would have dinner with Jane Marshall Dillon because when she was young, Dillon's book "A School for Young Riders" was her bible.
