Local Food Expo
Learn about Marshfield's local food movement at our Local Food Expo event, a
place for farmers to showcase their products (similar to a farmer's market), while providing education to the public about their products, farm, processing, etc. The Local Food Expo will take place on Tuesday, March 14 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at First Presbyterian Church (200 S. Linclon Avenue). Take a field to fork journey of a Wisconsin potato at the Wisconsin Potato Growers Association Spudmobile exhibit. Order dinner made with local ingredients from Chef C's Munchie Mobile food truck. The event is family friendly and free to attend. Find more information on the Facebook event page.
Seeking Garden Buds Volunteers
Are you interested in gardening? Join Marshfield Clinic and Healthy Lifestyles - Marshfield Area Coalition as a volunteer for Garden Buds and assist students with garden education! We are seeking volunteers to help with the Garden Buds program in the spring and/or summer. The 2017 Garden Buds program is a club offered to students in grades 4-7 at Marshfield Clinic Youth Net. Marshfield Clinic Youth Net is a comprehensive afterschool program serving the Marshfield area, promoting educational and academic success; development of personal and social skills; and healthy active living.

There are two ways to get involved:
  • Garden Buds Instructors: lead students in garden related activities every Monday from 4:45-5:30pm from March 20 through May 26. Lessons may include garden work, harvesting, and related activities. Garden Buds Instructors do not need to have gardening experience and will have support from a Marshfield Clinic Youth Net mentor.
  • Garden Buds Growers: ensure that garden beds are productive and well-maintained. Gardening experience is helpful, but not required and Growers are not required to assist with Garden Buds student lessons.
For more information, please see our agency page at volunteermarshfield.org or contact Laura Zelenak or Theresa Balinghasay at 715-221-8400 or [email protected]

From the Healthy Lifestyles Files: Spring Recipe
Broccoli is in season during spring, so we dug around in our recipe cards cabinet to bring you this easy recipe for Italian Broccoli and Pasta! Join the Mealtime Movement and eat with others! This is an easy way to get those vegetables in and would also be a good introductory meal to help children learn to cook.
