It's Time for Kindergarten Enrollment in Rock Hill Schools
Please share this event with all of your family and friends!

Rock Hill Schools is hosting an event on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Rock Hill Schools district office (660 N. Anderson Road) to help families enroll their children in four-year-old and five-year-old kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year. While the first day of school is six months away, the early enrollment event can help reduce the first day jitters for both students and parents.

The drop-in event will allow families a one-stop shop to complete registration, meet school representatives, and enjoy a carnival-like atmosphere where each registered five-year-old kindergartener will receive a class of 2030 t-shirt and free shaved ice compliments of Kona Ice. Students and their families can also take pictures with area mascots, practice boarding a school bus, and sit in a Rock Hill Fire Department fire truck.

To register for kindergarten, children must be five years old on or by September 1, 2017 and must be four years old on of by September 1, 2017 for pre-kindergarten. To enroll, a parent or legal guardian is expected to provide:
  • legal birth certificate,
  • a current S.C. Certificate of Immunization record, and
  • proof of residence.
Accepted proof of residence documents are an electric bill, gas bill, and a rental or lease agreement. The parent or legal guardian's name and billing address of the residence must be on the document.

Rock Hill Schools offers a limited pre-kindergarten, or 4K, program. There are several options available to families depending on the child's attendance zone.

REMINDER
Change in Procedures for
Changes in Dismissal beginning
February 27, 2017

The district is defining writing as a hand written note that is sent with the student from home.  Students can only be released to individuals that are listed on the student information card.  In emergency situations, a transportation change or releasing a child to an adult not on the card MUST be confirmed by calling the parent/legal guardian on a phone number that is on the card or by using video chat.

Beginning Monday February 27, 2017, we will no longer be able to accept emails as "written" requests for changes in transportation. All requests MUST come in the form of a handwritten note that includes parent contact phone number(s) (which must match the phone number we have on file for the parent(s)' of the student). Please make sure  we have all of your up to date phone numbers on your student's  emergency card that is kept in the school office.

Thank you for helping us at Northside as all elementary schools in Rock Hill Schools are complying with this school district policy.
