The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Children's Hospital of Michigan has made major contributions to the understanding and treatment of pediatric blood diseases and cancer. The division combines state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment options with compassionate care by a comprehensive team of board-certified pediatric specialists on staff and more than 75 support staff. Division specialists work closely with other pediatric subspecialists to provide the highest level of coordinated, multidisciplinary care.  For more information about cancer treatment services, click here.

To celebrate the success of their patients in their fight against cancer, the division hosted its 21st annual Celebration of Life event in June with participation of over 300 patients and more than 1,000 families and staff there to support them.

"Celebration of Life" is in recognition of National Childhood Cancer Survivor Day. It's because of this event that the day has been named Childhood Cancer Survivor Day in the State of Michigan by Resolution each year.  The Children's Hospital of Michigan's Celebration of Life is believed to be the largest childhood cancer survivor celebration in the State and also believed to be the largest in the country.
