Every month we reach out to let you know what's happening at JFS and how you can stay involved. Even though we're facing challenges, we stand committed to our core values including  tikkun olam - to repair the world one person and family at a time. We thank you for your continued interest and support of our work. Today, you can engage in  tikkun olam by providing a meaningful celebration of Passover to local families in need, standing up for refugees and connecting an elder with our TAP-In! program.
Give the Gift of Passover

Our annual Matzo-Passover Appeal is here.  Every year, we rely on community support to provide a meaningful celebration of Passover to home-bound seniors and to those in the Jewish community with limited financial resources. With your generous financial support, w e pack and deliver kosher-for-Passover food to over 260 households so everyone can set their own Seder table. We also sponsor dozens of individuals to attend a communal Seder at a local synagogue. Please give generously and give the gift of Passover.

Know someone who would like to receive non-perishable Passover food or attend a Seder? Please let us know. Contact Galina Abashina, [email protected] or 413.455.1936 x106.
JFS Refugee Resettlement Program Update

If you've been following the news, you know the challenges the refugee resettlement community has been facing but you may not know the amount of support we've received as well. HIAS, our partner in refugee resettlement  for over 40 years, is committed to our work. " Beginning anew in a foreign country is never easy, but refugees who are resettled by JFS in Springfield can rely on the support and compassion of the JFS team as they do. " Click here to read the full letter of support from Mark Hetfield, HIAS CEO. We've also received numerous volunteer inquiries, welcome kits, contributions and for that we are grateful. For a good overview of the recent developments in refugee resettlement and our response, read " Jewish Family Service continues its mission despite executive order " article in this month's Jewish Ledger.
TAP-In! and receive a weekly phone call from a caring community member

Did you know that we offer a free telephone assurance program for older adults in the Pioneer Valley? Our TAP-In! "telebuddy" volunteers make weekly good cheer phone calls to older adults to help them age in place and stay connected to community life.

If you know a senior who may benefit from a weekly phone call, please contact Cathy Chandler, LICSW at [email protected] or 413.455.1936 x104.
