Robotics Team Makes History
Nationals, a first for All Girls Team in New York State
The St. Catharine's Robotics Team is the first all girls team in New York State to qualify for Nationals in Robotics!  Placing 7th and 8th in their competitions on Feb. 25, the SCA Robotics team will compete at the U.S. Open Robotics Tournament (nationals) in April. 

Winning the Design Award at the final weekend competition in February, the team also qualified for States which will be held in Massapequa, LI, on March 4.

Five freshmen have completed more than 100 hours of service

All SCA students log service hours as part of their academic requirements at St. Catharine's. Five freshmen have already completed the hours they need for graduation after only one semester:
Janell Alvarez: Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, 104 hours
Priscilla Assifuah: Bronx Library Center/ Open House/ Student Accepted Dinner, 110 hours
Adriana Garcia Ellis: Pelham Parkway Nursing Home,104 hours
Jeanasia McClary: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel After School Program, 109 hours
Maiya Ortiz: Open House/ Ascension After School Program, 150 hours.

Tamie Le '15 Blending Her Passion with Fashion
 
As a student at St. Catharine Academy, Tamie Le was drawn to both communication arts and art classes. She says those are the courses that set her on her current path at Brooklyn College. Now a sophomore, Tamie is pursuing a degree in marketing, currently serving as the vice president of the College's Fashion Marketing Society. Read more about Tamie and how a Mercy education influenced her direction.

SCA Varsities Tumble to Trophies at National Competition

Hard work and commitment are the hallmark of the St. Catharine Academy cheerleading teams with national ranking for more than a decade. This year, competing in the 2017 Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading  Championship in Orlando, Florida was no different. Performing difficult programs, both teams went on to become national finalists, a feat in itself. The JV team was awarded the national ranking of 9th place in the Small Junior Varsity Tumbling Division while the Varsity was awarded 13th place in the Small Varsity Division II Tumbling. Road to the Championship
The Huskies basketball team beat St. Vincent's by three with a score of 50-47 to move on in the Championships. They play Aquinas on Feb. 28. Go Huskies!
