In response to increasing questions about the immigration executive orders and how Ohio University is assisting its international community, the Office of Global Affairs and International Studies has created a new website as a single point of reference for easy access to information with regard to these issues.

Panel Discussion about Micro-Aggression 
Hosted by Libraries

The Libraries' Inclusion and Diversity Committee is sponsoring a "
kitchen table discussion," an informal, highly-participatory panel, about micro-aggressions: subtle words or attitudes toward minority groups that reinforce stereotyping. 
The three invited panelists: Dr. Shari Clarke, vice provost for Diversity and Inclusion; Dr. Jason Pina, vice president for Student Affairs; and Sara Trower, executive director Civil Rights and A ccessibility, will explore a range of opinions in hope of encouraging and stimulating participatory conversation i n an open public forum. 

The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Community-Based Tropical Disease Research Program in Ecuador 2017   


Program Summary
The Community-based Tropical Disease Research program is a result of 15 years of collaboration between the Infectious and Tropical Disease Institute (ITDI) at Ohio University and the Center for Research on Health in Latin America (CISeAL). We aim to reach underserved populations with state of the art training and technology to help control the transmission of Chagas disease and other infectious and chronic conditions affecting population in Ecuador and Latin America.
 
Program Dates
Options 1 & 2:
-Community based - Tropical Disease Research - June 24th to July 8th or June 24th to July 15th, 2017
- Interdisciplinary Field Research to establish post-earthquake baseline-data (Manabi Province)
-Interprofessional Clinical Research and Disaster Relief Health Care Clinic (Manabi Province)

Option 3:
-Humanitarian Service Learning in Ecuador- June 17th to July 22nd, 2017
 
Option 4:
-Laboratory Research at CISeAL - Variable May 6th to August 19th, 2017 (Weekly Rate, Minimum 2 weeks)
