Selwyn PTA Family Fun LUAU Dance Party - THIS FRIDAY!
All Selwyn families are invited to attend the Luau Dance Party hosted by the PTA Family Fun Committee.  It will take place this Friday, March 3 from 6:30 - 8 pm in the Selwyn Multipurpose Room.  Wear your best Hawaiian gear; school dress code applies.

RSVP today by  clicking here. Please indicate your child’s name, teacher and the number of adults and children attending.  Space is limited, so please only include Selwyn students and their immediate family.  Note all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Very important parking note!  AG 8th graders will be returning from an out of town trip about the time the dance party is wrapping up.  Please note that if you park in the AG lot, you may be delayed in departing as the students return.  There is also NO PARKING along the AG carpool lane so the charter buses can get through.

Volunteers are still needed to make this event successful!  Please sign up to help if you are available.
Early Release Day - March 1
On Wednesday, March 1, Selwyn will release 3 hours early with dismissal at 11:45 am.  After school care is available through After School Enrichment Programs (ASEP) for $20 per day for students who are not already registered in the program.  All other students already registered will attend at no additional costs.  Contact the Selwyn ASEP site coordinator, Jacqueline Shepperd for more information.

Red Ribbon Reading Sponsorship Opportunities
Are you interested in having your company logo on the back of every Selwyn student, on brochures and flyers sent home to all Selwyn families, as well as on our school's website? The Selwyn PTA is currently looking for sponsors for this year’s Red Ribbon Reading program. RRR is our summer reading fundraiser where students set reading goals, find sponsors and raise money for Selwyn! This is a great opportunity to promote your business while being part of our community and school.

If you are interested, please contact Mandi Bell or Laura Patton for more information. Secure your spot as a sponsor by March 10th to be included in materials printed this spring!  Click here to see a flyer that outlines the benefits of each sponsorship level.

Volunteer for the 2017-18 PTA Board
It's hard to believe, but it's already time to begin filling PTA board positions for the 2017-2018 school year! We have approximately 100 board positions and would love to have you help lead one of the teams of volunteers. Please let us know how you would like to contribute to the PTA next school year by contacting Trina Cone by Friday,  March 10th. In your email, list any committees you might be interested in chairing, in order of preference. Please feel free to provide any particular talents or interests you have, along with any questions that we can answer. More information on PTA committees and board positions can be found here
Let's Roll Out the Red Carpet for Our Star Staff!
Selwyn’s Annual Staff Appreciation Week will be March 13-17. Please join us in celebrating our teachers and staff with festive treats and eats throughout the Oscar-themed week. Volunteer opportunities will be posted soon!

On Friday, March 17, we will send all staff and bus drivers home with gift cards.   Please consider donating one or more $10 gift cards for Harris Teeter, Target or Starbucks.  Or, you can send in a check of any amount payable to Selwyn PTA, and we will purchase the gift card.  Gift cards or checks may be sent in with students in an envelope marked “Staff Appreciation” or may be dropped off in the Parent Room.  As always, thank you for your support!
