What do you do if what they want isn't what they need?
- There are two ways that I handle this delicate problem, because the customer is not always right.
1. where what the customer is asking for is not quite right I give my best advice. if they still want to go ahead then I firm up my advice in writing and do as they wish. 2. where what they want is definitely not going to work like they early gold chrome for use on a vehicle and they still wish to go ahead then I suggest that they should find some one else to do the job as they soon forget the advice when it has failed and they are letting the world know. Its best not to have done the job in the first place.
- Easy enough to explain to the client why you think he/she is wrong. If he/she insists that they still want to go with their original request - you do it. They will then have to live with what they ordered.
- big problem, usually we advice but sometimes its just too hard to get the message over .The Customer is the one that pays the bill so if he wants it he gets it done the way he wants it. some people really think they are a designer and signwriter and know it all.
- We give them two options. What they think they want, and what we think they need. Invariably they will go with our suggestion, but if they don't, we will do their request but note on the invoice that we did their option, not our suggestion.
- Suggest alternatives that would deliver a better result for them. Some times the client takes our advice, other times they disregard it and then come back to order the signage we originally suggested. We give their replacement order a small discount in this instance.
As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make the horse drink it. (Justin, Just In Signs).
- Tell them what you think and if they don't want to go with your idea (they usually do). then they get what they wanted. Simple!!
(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
In addition we reserve the right to remove comments that are blatant advertising for one product or company)

New Classified ad improvements
Printers and others who use our Classified ad pages to sell, buy, look for job applicants and sell their businesses will be pleased to know that we are in the process of restructuring the Wide Format Online magazine pages in order to offer you a huge increase in readership via Google and other search engines which should translate to more opportunities to sell your equipment, find a job, fill a vacancy, etc.
As an example, see the NSW Machinery listing for instance by
clicking here.
Unlike our news pages, which Google regularly broadcasts to all relevant readers, Google has not been able to find our Classified ads since they were all grouped into one page.
We have now improved that situation by putting each ad on its own page and updating our search engine criteria to help Google and other search engines find your ad and broadcast it to those who search for the relevant criteria (ie Roland, Mimaki, etc.,).
We are also now better placed to include a photograph in your ad - should you wish to include one.
We hope you will find this a great improvement in your usage of our Classified ad services.
