Last week's survey results...

What are the most unusual local council requirements/knock-backs you have had for CBD signage?:
-
Landmark pylon sign for a prominent company on a large stand alone industrial block. Council insisted that the faces could not be over 8 square metres, and that coukld be the only signs for the site. 3 doors away was a Woolworths branded Caltex fuel outlet with price boards at 30 square metres per side and the the canopy sides totalling about 150 square metres. the client felt that they could not lean on council as they are in the shed game and rely on customers applications getting through in a timely manner. (Brett, Signs 'n Stuff)
-
Our local council says "under awning signs must be located 2.6m above natural ground". During the last 6 months they have levelled all CBD footpaths, on average building it up 600mm. CBD looks great, but now the entire CBD's existing under awning signage is illegal! Shop owners are being asked to rectify. Got to love that desk sitting genius - I wonder if there is an "undo" button somewhere :-)
(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
