This week's survey
(These survey questions are sent in by our readers. Please spend a minute to give your answer to this week's survey as one or possibly more of your industry peers thinks this question is important and wishes to see your point of view as well as others in the industry.)

Last week's survey results...

How do you get around the problem of paint coming off a vehicle that has been poorly repaired when a wrap is removed? Do you take responsibility or do you have a warranty stipulating all care but no responsibility?
  • We have this issue raise it's head often in doing heavy industry and transport vehicles. Typically repairs are quick and cheap so the vehicles aren't off the road too long and can fail when it is time to remove a vehicle wrap. We've had this on old and new vehicles. We make it clear on our quote forms that the warranty only covers vehicles with good paint, but we will not warrant removal of a wrap and be responsible for poor work done by others. We repeat the disclaimer twice in two different areas of our quote. The most common issue is from buses coming out of china, especially on aluminium panels as well as small bus operators who get their buses repaired overnight by a backyarder to save money and time. We are looking at getting a legally written disclaimer document too. (Shane, DSI)
  • We don't remove any vinyl jobs, if we are asked we quote it at a rate of $500.00 per hour or part there of. I don't like doing it so I reckon if I got to do something I do not enjoy I might as well get paid something stupid! (Bernie, Geraldton GraFX)

(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
In addition we reserve the right to remove comments that are blatant advertising for one product or company)

We stated in our review of the show that The General Manager of Visual Connections, Peter Harper would be retiring after PacPrint next year. Apparently this was a misunderstanding and he assured us that he has no intention of retiring at this stage. So our apologies to Peter and to anybody else who was misled by this statement.

Smile: It's only Monday!

The haircut
A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his father as to when they could discuss his use of the car.
His father said he'd make a deal with his son, "You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little and get your hair cut.
Then we'll talk about the car."
The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer and they agreed on it.
After about six weeks his father said, "Son, you've brought your grades up and I've observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I'm disappointed you haven't had your hair cut."
The boy said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair, and there's even strong evidence that Jesus had long hair."

Love the Dad's reply!
"Did you also notice that they all walked everywhere they went?"
