A Message from Greg

I wonder how many times in my life I have used the word "if."  My dad once told about a round of golf he played.  He shot a 94, but he concluded that "if" it hadn't been for 6 penalty strokes he would have scored 88.  Now my dad was 80 years old at the time and 94 isn't to shabby, (in fact there are many of us 'younger' golfers who would be quite happy "if" we could shoot 94) but his "if" had him wondering about what could have been.
There are, of course, much bigger "ifs" in our lives that leave us wondering about what could have been:  if I had invested more wisely, if I had taken that job, if I hadn't gotten married at such a young age, if I had only known then what I know now, if I had gotten that promotion, if I had planned for my retirement, if I had spent more time with my kids, etc.  The list is almost infinite.  The apostle Paul reflected on our tendency to spend more time looking in the rear view mirror than focusing on the road ahead:
"...but this one thing I do:  forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 3: 13, 14.   Now "if" I would only remember that!  God Bless You!  See you Sunday!   Peace,  Greg

Rev. Greg will be leading a new study starting on March 5th.

A huge thank you to all who attended the Valentine luncheon supporting Jubilee Christmas 2017.  $560.00 has been placed into the Jubilee account as a result of the fund raiser.  We plan to host 35 families again in 2017.  Currently the fleece blanket project is underway.  About 1/3 of the blankets are complete.  If you have some fleece to donate, it would be appreciated.  Jubilee 2017 will come with a small change.  The clothing goal this year is to only provide pajamas and socks for the children.  So if you find a bargain, consider buying them early.
It is not to early to start preparing for the 2017 event on December 9th.  Shop early.  Pick up that toy that is on sale.  When you go to the grocery store, consider buying 1 food item for the food baskets.  If you buy 1 package of noodles, or any item of your choice, each time you go to the grocery store, you would have enough for each food basket.  Don't wait until December, shop early.
If you have any questions please contact Roberta Pilotte, Hariett Beeler, the Kelsey's or myself.  God's Blessings to each of you. Sandie Hauser
