Shoeboxes Are For Shoes and Not Receipts
Running is a passion of mine. Last year I completed my first Ragnar Relay which consisted of running approximately 200 miles from Saratoga Springs to Lake Placid in a span of just under 29 hours with 9 co-workers and a close friend from college. It was one of the craziest races I have ever experienced, and I signed up for two in 2017.
There were a number of things that needed to happen before I was ready to take on that race. I had to make sure I could run three different distances on little to no sleep. It was important to have proper nutrition during the race while making sure everything could fit in our van. The temperature would change from a warm fall day to a cold winter morning, which required a range of clothing options to ensure I did not overheat nor freeze along the way.

A Guide to Understanding NYS Sales & Use Tax

One of the important parts of starting a new business in New York State is to obtain your business sales tax certificate. The application can be found on the New York State website,
www.tax.ny.gov
. Once you have applied for your certificate number, you should receive a pin number by mail to set up your online services account login. This is important since you will be required to file your returns electronically each filing period.

Quick Tip! Are You Using These Updated Forms for 2017?
It's a new year and a new you! A new diet is keeping inches off your waist while you go to the gym so that new membership doesn't go to waste. Maybe you're planning for that dream vacation that is finally going to happen in July. You might have made a commitment to increase (or begin) contributions to your retirement account. These are all great plans and I certainly hope you can see them through to 2018.
A new year also means that some forms from 2016 are no longer valid. Be sure to use these updated forms for 2017:
Don't worry if you are using Form 2848 Power of Attorney from December 2015 as that is the most recent edition provided by the IRS.
