Congratulations to all for their commitment to our students!  We are so proud of you!

Athletics:

Girls Basketball:
The girls hosted Thousand Oaks HS on Wednesday in the CIF Div 3AA Quarterfinals with a first-ever trip to the Semifinals on the line. Thousand Oaks was ultimately too strong and earned the SemiFinal spot by a score of 51-44.

The Girls Basketball team finished 20-10 on the year and had a first-ever trip out to Texas for a tournament. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families for a great '16-'17 season.

Girls Soccer:
Along with a CIF division 2 championship last year, the Sea Kings received a bump up to the top division, Div 1, for this year's playoffs. Not afraid of any challenge or challenger, the team won their first playoff game and found themselves at Los Alamitos on Tuesday night. Los Alamitos came out strong and played great soccer throughout to earn the 4-0 victory and the spot in the CIF quarterfinals.

It was a great season for Girls Soccer as they went 18-4-3 overall and 9-0-1 in the Bay League to secure their 3rd consecutive Bay League Championship.  Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families for a great '16-'17 season.

Boys Soccer:
The team marches on! Boys soccer has advanced to the Div 1 CIF Semifinals after a big week and two victories! The team will now also participate in the CIF SoCal Regional Championship as well!

On Wednesday, PV hosted Downey and shut out the visitors 2-0. In the CIF Quarterfinals, PV drew familiar foe Loyola and hosted on Saturday. In front of a great crowd, PV was dominant and won 3-0 over the Cubs.

On Tuesday, PV will travel to Redlands East Valley HS for a game to be played at Citrus Valley HS at 7pm in the CIF Semifinals. A victory would get the Sea Kings to the CIF championship game on Saturday. The SoCal Regional games will begin on 3/7

There will be a Rooter Bus for Tuesday's game against Redlands East Valley. Stop my Mr. Meadows' office by noon on Monday to get a permission slip and reserve your seat.

Surf Team
The PV Surf Team faced a tough competitor in Mira Costa Friday morning at Torrance Beach. The conditions were a bit choppy and the weather and the water were cold but our surfers persevered. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost 102-66.

PV High had strong representation in men's shortboard with Briggs Peus coming in first place, Chad Brown and Charlie Winkworth in second and Rodney Buck placing second in their respective heats. Rodney Buck as usual, showed that he is a strong competitor and also placed second in longboarding and second in the bodyboard heat.
