Important Family & Peer Program Training Information

NAMI CA would like to thank all the affiliates again for their patience and understanding this fiscal year with the training schedule for Family and Peer program trainings. NAMI CA has received the bridge funding from the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC), and we are now able to announce that we will be offering a Peer-to-Peer state training and will be able to provide funding to affiliates to host local trainings.

We will be conducting the NAMI CA Peer-to-Peer training in Sacramento, CA. A training date has yet to be scheduled but the training will be occurring sometime in March or April 2017. Once a confirmed date is set, information (such as training date, application deadline, etc.) will be announced in the NAMI CA Weekly Report newsletter. Applications (see below) can be submitted to NAMI CA by fax (916) 567-1757 or by emailing them to [email protected] .

In order for affiliates to receive funding to host a training, they will need to submit an application, a training budget, and a waitlist of participants that are ready to be trained (see below). NAMI CA will be able to provide technical assistance to the affiliate if needed, but the affiliate will be responsible for the main coordination of the training (recruiting trainees, collecting/screening applications, locating a training site, ordering meals, etc.). We anticipate these trainings to occur in March and April of 2017. The awarded affiliate will also agree to complete a follow up report and provide a training roster to NAMI CA within one week after the training.

Grant applications must be submitted to NAMI CA no later than February 24, 2017.

NAMI CA thanks you for remaining flexible and patient as we waited to receive notice of receiving the bridge funding. We are here for any questions or concerns you may have; please do not hesitate to contact us at (916) 567-0163.
