Reception, awards draw nearly 200 people
Alumni spanning four decades gathered with La Follette School faculty, students, friends, and staff February 2 for a mid-winter reception at The Madison Club. With nearly 200 people in attendance, it was one of the largest La Follette School receptions in recent history. Read more.
WAA Forward under 40 Award presented to Peter Tempelis
La Follette School alumnus Peter Tempelis (MPA, JD '06) received a Forward under 40 Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) on February 2. WAA President Paula Bonner presented the award to Tempelis, whom she described as a "paragon of professionalism." Read more.
3 faculty members receive research awards
UW-Madison's Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (VCRGE) presented highly competitive awards to Director Don Moynihan (Kellett Award), Professor Jason Fletcher (Romnes Award), and Associate Professor Mark Copelovitch (Vilas Award).
Fletcher's book bridges genetics, human behavior, social policy
A new bo ok by Professor Jason Fletcher and Dalton Conley explores the latest discoveries being made at the scientific frontier where genomics and the social sciences intersect. The Genome Factor: What the Social Genomics Revolution Reveals about Ourselves, Our History & the Future is published by Princeton University Press.  Read more .
Moynihan shares performance budgeting study at World Bank
La Follette School Director Don Moynihan on February 1 gave a presentation about his book Toward Next-Generation Performance Budgeting, to a group of World Bank Group officials in Washington, D.C. Read more.
La Follette students gain grant-writing skills
With funding from UW-Madison's Graduate School, more than 20 La Follette School students participated in a four-hour grant-writing seminar Thursday, Jan. 26. The La Follette School Student Association (LSSA) applied for the professional development grant and organized the seminar in response to student requests. Read more.
