   The tornadoes that hit New Orleans East last week damaged about 300 homes, and most of those homes had been flooded during Hurricane Katrina 11 ½ years ago. The Feb. 18 issue of the Clarion Herald takes a look at Vergie and Roger Davis, who in the last 35 years have been through fire, flood and tornado, while holding fast to their Catholic faith. 

   Archbishop Aymond reflects on how the Catholic community is helping the tornado victims - and how you can still help.

   Seminarians from Notre Dame Seminary went to the heavily damaged New Orleans East home of Deacon Allen Stevens and helped clean out debris at that house and also at other homes in the neighborhood.  

   Archbishop Gregory Aymond has named a new superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She is Dr. RaeNell Billiot Houston, who has served for the last five years as associate superintendent. Houston will succeed Dr. Jan Lancaster as superintendent on July 1.

   Religious men and women gathered last weekend at St. Joseph Abbey for the local celebration of the World Day for Consecrated Life and reflected on how their lives are witnesses to Christ.

   Former Benedictine Abbot Patrick Regan, who spearheaded the renovation of St. Joseph Abbey Church in the late 1990s, passed away Feb. 8 after a long battle with leukemia.

   In Kids' Clarion, young girls at St. Rita School in Harahan are learning all about the virtues of female saints through a "Little Flowers Girls' Club" afterschool program.

   Chef's Charity for Children will host its annual fundraiser for St. Michael Special School on March 16.
