TC North Stars Junior A
It's Playoff Time - Promote Your Business and Support Your Hometown Hockey Team 

The TC North Stars Junior A hockey team will begin playoff action the first weekend in March on home ice and we're offering an easy way for you to support the team! For an investment of $500, $1000 or $1500, participating businesses will receive year-round advertising at Centre Ice Arena, providing excellent brand exposure for your business by putting your message in front of 400,000 fans, athletes and visitors. Advertising dollars will directly support the North Stars Players Assistance Fund. See flyer for complete details and to order advertising.


The playoffs will be here soon so don't delay! Ad d esigns must be submitted no later than Friday, February 17. Centre Ice will take care of production cost and details.

NOTE: The regular season game on February 25 has been cancelled due to playoffs beginning that weekend. The North Stars have received a bye and will begin playoff action on March 3 at Centre Ice Arena. Let's Go North Stars!

TCFSC - Annual Ice Show "Princesses and Villains On Ice"

The annual Traverse City Figure Skating Club Ice Show will once again feature skating princesses, but this year some menacing villains will be thrown into the mix for an on-ice extravaganza that will be a treat for all ages. Presented by Traverse City State Bank, "Princesses and Villains On Ice" will take place at Centre Ice Arena Friday, March 10 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, March 11 at 11:30 am and 4:30 pm. Come dressed as your favorite princess or villain and get your picture taken with the cast for $5.

Local radio stations are sponsoring a variety of on-air contests giving listeners the chance to win free tickets and more. The popular "Ultimate Princess and Villains Night Out" on 106 KHQ offers a free limo ride - compliments of New York Luxury Limo - and 10 front row tickets to the 4:30 show on Saturday. The Luxury Suite Contest on 92.9/Z93 will provide a party of 10 the use of the Centre Ice Luxury Balcony Suite complete with pizza from Mancino's Pizza and Grinders at the 11:30 show on Saturday. The Ron Jolly Show on News Talk 580  will give away a high-top table for four in the On-Ice V.I.P. section, where adults may enjoy wine, cheese and other treats. Tune to your favorite station for your chance to win!

GTHA - Tournament Champions and Upcoming Events

There are plenty of CONGRATULATIONS to be handed out to several GTHA teams. Well done players and coaches!

February 4 & 5 - MAHA District 7 Travel Championships:

Bantam AA District 7 Champions advance to the MAHA State Tournament March 10 - 12 in St Clair Shores.


Pee Wee AA District 7 Champions advance to the MAHA State Tournament March 3 - 5 in Marquette.

January 13-16 - Minnesota Gone Wild Tournament:

Bantam AA Traverse City North Stars Minnesota Gone Wild Champions.

February 10-12 MAHA District 7 Squirt House Playoffs

February 18 & 19 Mite Jamboree - 74 teams participating, the largest Jamboree to date! 

Lady North Stars Update:

As of the last weekend in January, the U19 Lady North Stars were 12-6-1 on the season, ranked 5th in the state according to MyHockeyRankings.com making them the highest ranked team from Northern Michigan in the U19 Division.

With one former Lady North Star already committed to Davenport and three more being recruited by various colleges, the program will send girls off to play college hockey for the third straight year. Stay tuned for more details.

The U12 girls are off to another fine season after moving up to the U12 division in the Little Caesar's Michigan Girls Hockey League (LCMGHL). As of the last week in January, the U12 girls were third in their division with a 3-3-2 record.

Fundraiser  Recap - Veterans Cup; Guns N Hoses
 
Two recent fundraisers at Centre Ice were hugely successful in terms of both attendance and donations. 

Veterans Cup:  The 4th Annual Veterans Cup on January 28 - Bay Reps vs TC Central Trojans - proved once again to be an emotional tribute to area Veterans and an excellent fundraiser for Mid-Michigan Honor Flight and Grand Traverse Area Veteran Coalition  raising over $24,000! The Trojans beat the Bay Reps 4-2.

Guns N Hoses: Also celebrating its fourth fundraiser, Guns N Hoses raised  $13,817.23 for Sean McDonald and family. Playing to a packed house, Team Police beat Team Fire 9-5.

Delaney Drake on Team USA
Team USA Wins International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championships

Delaney Drake, Center, and Teammates Sing National Anthem After Winning Gold

Traverse City resident Delaney Drake, along with her  Team USA teammates, brought home gold all the way from Zlin, Czech Republic after winning the International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championships in January. Team USA won four of their five games, defeating Canada 3-1 in the championship game . Drake, a 17-year-old currently attending the North American Hockey Academy in Stowe, Vermont, had two goals and and one assist in the five games Team USA played during the tournament. 

This summer Drake will head to Madison, Wisconsin to begin training for her freshman season on her new team, the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore-to-Shore to Sell Cookies at TC North Stars Playoff Game
If you've been wondering when and where you can stock up on tasty Girl Scout cookies, wonder no more! The TC North Stars have got you covered!

 
On Saturday, March 4, the Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore-to-Shore will sell cookies before the TC North Stars second playoff game. Cookie sales begin in the upper concourse of Centre Ice Arena at 6:30; game time is 7:00.

Cookies and playoff hockey...what could be better?!?! See you at the game!
