Early Dismissal
We will be dismissing students at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 17, so that teachers may attend an important In-service. School districts will run their pick-up earlier to accommodate our students.  There will be no supervision available in the building after 11:30 AM.  Any students remaining after dismissal will need to call a parent or guardian for pick-up

Junior Rings
Juniors wishing to purchase class rings can place their orders online or with a Balfour representative at YC.  A rep will be here February 15 from 4-6 PM in the lobby, and also February 15 and 16 during lunch periods.  Representatives will be able to assist with sizing, customizing, and orders; they will have full display cases for students to view as they try to select just the right ring.  Questions may be directed to Kathy Hand at [email protected] .
Re-enrollment ~ Course Selection ~ Tuition Assistance
At York Catholic, we are particularly grateful for your partnership with us in the education of your children who bless our community everyday with their talents.  The following is an update regarding Course Selection, Re-enrollment, and Tuition Assistance for the 2017-2018 school year.

Course Selection
Students in grades 9 through 11 now have access to the online course selection portal in MMS.  This will remain open until February 24.  During this time, students should select their courses for next school year.  After completing the process online, they are instructed to print out the course selection sheet and have each of their teachers sign next to their desired subject courses.  A parent signature is required as well.  These forms will be due on February 24, 2017

Parents, please take the time to click here  to review our course catalog for next school year.  We are excited to be offering three new courses to include Personal Finance, Political Science and Latin I.  Latin I will be offered with a Dual Enrollment Option through Alvernia University and will be taught by Father Dan Richards, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish.

Re-enrollment
In an effort to better prepare for the budget and enrollment numbers for next year, we are aligning the re-enrollment process with our course selection for the first time. Tuition figures for next year will be published in early April after the School Board meeting for budget approval.  In order to budget appropriately, we are asking families to re-enroll now.  This year, we have an early re-enrollment fee of $150.00.  After March 17, 2017, the re-enrolment fee will increase to $200.00, with an increase to $250.00 after May 12, 2017.  As in the past, the re-enrollment fee will be applied to the required fees for Capital Improvements and Technology.

Tuition Assistance
Our Advancement Department continues to work hard with our donors to increase tuition assistance opportunities for our students.  If you plan to apply for assistance, please be sure to do so no later than April 15, 2017.  If you require assistance in completing this application, you may make an appointment with our Business Office Manager, Ms. Heather Dougherty, for March 21 or March 22 by contacting her at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x215.

Music Association Meeting
Parents of music and choral students are welcome to attend the York Catholic Music Association meeting on Tuesday, February 14, at 6:30 PM. The meetings usually last approximately one hour and everyone's input and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. Your help in planning and implementing the efforts of the YCMA are critical.
Athletic Association Meeting
Due to the YAIAA Basketball Tournament, the YC Athletic Association will be having their next meeting on Wednesday, February 22, at 6:30 PM in the Faculty Dining Room.  This a schedule change from February 15.  We hope you can join us.  GO IRISH!
Inclement Weather
During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system.  Other modes of notification include WSBA 910-AM, WGAL TV-8, and the YC website.  Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS.  The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern.  These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.
In Case You Missed It...

YC students Becca Najdek and Chandler Hake were judges for the St. Rose of Lima STEM Fair highlighting projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Thanks to Mrs. Rizzuto, Principal of St. Rose, for sharing the photo.
