Spring Planting in God's Sacred Garden for Children

The Garden is an important image used in the Bible.  From the story of Creation to the teachings of Jesus, the Garden teaches us of God's care.  In this workshop you will glean insight on how to cultivate, plant, and nurture children into the life of the Church so that they might bear fruit for God's Kingdom.

It's all about WORMS!  Introducing WORMS into your Church’s Sacred Garden of Children’s Ministries is one of the many ‘gardening tips’ you’ll want to learn more about!

God’s good plan for your Children’s Ministry is a Plan of GROWTH so come and discover the healthy soil mix that will empower your Children’s Ministry Team to offer engaging, relevant, Jesus-centered  programs for children in your church and community.

Join others who share your passion to cultivate, nurture and grow healthy disciples for Jesus Christ.  We’ll swap stories of celebration as well as share stories about those pesky challenges that often creep into our sacred gardens for children.

Explore fun, creative ways to be about WORMS, a model that allows you to tap into the spiritual gifts and talents of your Team and is rooted in a healthy sensitivity to children's various learning styles. Bring along your ministry celebrations and your challenges to share with others - it's always a joy to share 'gardening tips' with one another for the building up of God's Kingdom.

Karen Todd has a passionate heart for both urban and suburban children's ministries and holds the strong belief that God's youngest disciples have the potential to be a pivotal force in God's Kingdom-building and provide inspiration and wisdom within the church family and into their local communities.  She been blessed to provide servant leadership to various children's ministry teams of local churches in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, most recently on staff as the Children's Ministry Director at First UMC, Ephrata, Lancaster County and as a summer camp director at nearby Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center.  Karen currently lives in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County and serves as coach/mentor for children's ministries at East Stroudsburg UMC and other local churches.  Karen is blessed with 36 years of marriage to her husband, Jim, and she is mother of Lauren who resides in Philadelphia and Kristin who resides in Denver, Colorado.  Still unbelievable to her, she is also the mother to two sweet felines, Ezra and Maya.
