Annual Celebration,sponsored by Hilliard Lyons, is this Friday, February 10. We are excited about the networking opportunity our largest event offers our members and are pleased to recognize businesses and individuals for their accomplishments over the past year. Entertainment is by world famous trumpeter Vince DiMartino and jazz pianist Dr. Keith McCutchen. We look forward to seeing you there.
The Chamber Board of Directors held a half day retreat, facilitated by Steve Rinehart, to plan our year. Directors looked at issues affecting you, our members. As we continue to organize the year's program, we look forward to your input.
The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce continues tackling the large issue of workforce development on behalf of our members.
On
February 21, 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Boyle County Fire Headquarters on Lebanon Road, we will convene
a community-wide meeting to address improving "soft skills"/professional skills/employability skills among the region's unemployed and underemployed individuals.
All community organizations and individuals who assist local folks with issues/needs which impact their employability are invited. This first meeting is to take the initial step toward developing a concerted, coordinated community-wide effort to identify and seek solutions to the obstacles that impede individuals from obtaining and retaining employment and will be the first in a series of meetings to create and implement action steps by early fall. Please consider attending this meeting, and share with others who should be at the table of this discussion and planning.

Leadership Boyle County studied Arts & Culture this month. Tours included the Community Arts Center, West T. Hill Theater, Norton Center for the Arts, the Great Americall Dollhouse Museum, Boyle County Public Library, Art of Danville gallery, Pioneer Playhouse and Centre's Jones Visual Arts Center.

Leadership Boyle County and our Youth LBC programs continue to meet monthly promoting awareness of the strengths of our community, as well as the complexity of its problems and helping participants understand the most effective means to work for necessary changes. The programs enhance the leadership skills of our present and potential leaders and
fosters strong civic pride and involvement in our organizations and community. The adult program has 20 participants while the youth program has 25. Thank you to the many Steering Committee members and Day Chairs for all the work they do to organize each month's full day programming!
