HOUSES OF WORSHIP BECOME TARGETS
 
Turns out the Quebec City mosque shooting suspect visited the mosque three days before the deadly attack on worshipers. During a eulogy for the victims, the Imam of the mosque included the shooter.
 
The FBI and City of Davis police serve a  search warrant on a local residence after the mosque that was vandalized on Jan. 22nd. Also a Roseville, CA mosque was vandalized with hateful and obscene graffiti and the community came out to help clean up.
 
Additionally, 57 U.S. Jewish centers received bomb threats in first month of 2017
 
A new Muslim-Jewish coalition in D.C. urges action against hate crimes.




KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
 
CAIR, a member organization of the Shura Council, has been providing local Islamic Centers and mosques with "Know Your Rights" workshops. We encourage the community to attend any workshops in your area.

NEWS
 
On Sunday, Feb. 5th, the Islamic Center of Conejo Valley was blessed to see the overwhelming support of over 500 neighbors, friends, elected officials, faith leaders and concerned citizens. The 'Stand with your Muslim Neighbor' demonstration was organized by Desta Goehner at California Lutheran University to show solidarity with the Muslim community.

Judge James Robart , a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, issued a temporary nationwide block to Trump's administration's travel ban on seven Muslim-majority nations. The issue continues to be debated in court.
 
World Hijab Day event in Garden Grove attracts over 400 attendees. And a  Rabbi wears a scarf to "stand with your Muslim Sisters" on World Hijab Day .
 
Adults and children in Massachusetts make " To Islam, with Love" valentine's cards for delivery to Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center's community.
