Defining & Developing Proficiency in Mathematics
How to Teach Fractions Effectively
with Professor Mahesh Sharma
Middle School Students, RTI providers, Special Education Teachers and Para-educators.
Participants will learn the most efficient models for presenting fractions in meaningful ways to develop linguistic, conceptual and procedural knowledge and mastery of fractions. This workshop will focus on:
Addition and subtraction of fractions
Introduction to multiplication & division
Professor Sharma will address the following questions:
What are the 4 major prerequisite skills for understanding and mastering the concept of fractions?
What is the impact of executive function skills on mathematics?
Professor Mahesh Sharma is the former President and Professor of
Mathematics Education at Cambridge College. He is the founder and President of the Center for Teaching/Learning Mathematics of Wellesley, MA. Internationally known for his ground-breaking work in mathematics education, he is an author, teacher, trainer, researcher and consultant to public and private schools.

Registration Fee: $225
Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch.
Confirmation and directions will be emailed to each participant.
Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be made 30 days prior to the beginnng of a workshop. Cancellation 10-30 days will incur a $75 cancellation fee. Cancellation 0-10 days, no refund will be issued. Substitutions may be made. Please notify LLL in writing with the name of alternate participant.
