EDNA GOES TO WASHINGTON!
|
Terry, Cindy, Chris, and Edna Woods
|
As most of you know, the New England Parkinson's Ride was started by the Woods Family when Chris Woods was diagnosed with Young Onset PD at the age of 41. Although the entire family participates at various levels, Chris's mom, Edna, was and still is the driving force behind the Ride. At 82 years old, her determination to find a cure for her son, and everyone else affected by PD, knows no bounds.
And so, at the invitation of The Michael J Fox Foundation,
Edna, along with Chris's wife Terry, will represent the
New England Parkinson's Ride and the Parkinson's Community at
The 2017 Parkinson's Policy Forum in Washington, DC
from February 26-28th!
Edna and Terry will not only have an opportunity to learn more about the
public policy and advocacy work
of The Michael J Fox Foundation but will attend a full day of meetings on Capitol Hill where they will build relationships with members of Congress and educate them on Parkinson's disease. Who better than Edna and Terry to help these lawmakers understand the perspectives of patients, families and loved ones who live with the disease every day. If anyone can convince them of how critical the need for a cure is, we all know Edna can! Just don't be surprised if you see a whole contingent of Senators and Congressmen on their bikes this September!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
