Winter Biker Photo Contest

Are you a cyclist? Do you take your bike out in the winter months regularly or occasionally? Take a picture, share it and you could win! From now through February 28th , any #WinterBiker picture shared with @MCBikeChallenge on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram enters you in weekly raffles and a monthly grand prize raffle awarded on March 3rd. And, any picture shared with @NorthShoreTMA on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram or by email enters you into a raffle for a bike tune-up at the shop of your choice!
Imagine Salem
The City of Salem, a North Shore TMA municipal member is launching a new initiative called "Imagine Salem" in an effort to revision and plan for Salem's 400 anniversary in 2026. The city is working on a variety of projects as part of this re-branding-- including fair and affordable housing, job creation, transportation options and themes of equity and inclusiveness among others. Do you have ideas for the city? Take their survey to express them!  
Commonwealth Conversations
The Massachusetts State Senate is conducting statewide forums now through April to learn from their constituents what issues matter most to them. Transportation is certainly at the top of that list! On April 11 th , join State Senators Lovely, DiDomenico, Lewis, Donnelly and McGee for their North Shore conversation. Details...

Updates from MassDOT
  • Last month, MassDOT rolled out a free mobile app called "GoTime", which syncs in real-time with data generated on Massachusetts highway signs (left) to over 300 destinations. The app is available on Apple and Android devices and it will allow users to estimate how long their commute will be and make informed decisions accordingly. Learn more... 
  • The MBTA Commuter Rail now has a color-coded alert system letting riders know about delays and cancellations due to severe weather. Purple = regular service, Blue = reduced service, Orange = check because there are major delays and Gray = a cancellation of service. More info...
  • The Capital Investment Plan (CIP) by MassDOT and the MBTA for Fiscal Years 2018-2022 is now available for comment. The CIP focuses on three priority areas for capital investment - reliability, modernization, and expansion.  Let MassDOT and the MBTA know what projects are important to you. Learn more...

  • It's now getting easier than ever to get around in Massachusetts using a Transportation Network Company (TNC) like Lyft or Uber. You may now order a Lyft or Uber ride from Logan Airport! Details... 
  • If you are enrolled in pre-tax commuter benefits through your employer, then you can use those funds for TNC pooling services like Lyft Line and Uber POOL.
