A Note from James

We have a free concert coming up this weekend! Theatre organist Michael Britt will return to accompany another one of Buster Keaton's hysterical films - The Navigator -- this Sunday at 4 p.m. in the church.  This concert always fills up and remains one of the most joyful experiences we offer at St. Margaret's!  Popcorn and refreshments will be on sale in the lobby.   All proceeds go to help the Combined Choirs make their NYC Lincoln Center Debut on May 29, 2017.

Sunday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. brings back the folk group Shenandoah Run.  This irresistible group of musicians sing music from around the world, they pick guitars and dobros and banjos with the best of them, and always delight their audiences.  The last time they came to St. Margaret's they sold out the house.  Make sure you have tickets for this one!

Remember that great NYC jazz concert we had a couple of years ago at St. Margaret's?  Two of the principals are coming back for an afternoon of sheer delight. On Sunday, March 26, at 4 p.m., guitarist Tony Romano and Russian sax player Lenny Sendersky return.  This is a pay at the door concert and not part of the concert series, but no jazz lover will want to miss this. Suggested donation is $20, but pay what you can.

The eagerly anticipated piano recital by Thomas Pandolfi has been moved to Saturday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m.  Originally scheduled for June, this exciting artist will provide a great concert on Mother's Day weekend.  Don't forget to change the date on your calendars.  There is no extra charge to subscribers for this concert or the one that follows.  Non-Subscribers - order your tickets now.  $20 each.

Just to make sure that our subscribers who are expecting a concert on Saturday, June 17
th  are not disappointed by the change of Thomas Pandolfi's concert to May, we have invited jazz clarinetist Todd Marcus to bring his ensemble down from Baltimore for a wonderful evening of surprisingly beautiful music.  Bass Clarinetist, Composer, Arranger, Todd Marcus is one of the few artists worldwide to focus on the bass clarinet as a main instrument in modern jazz with his large and small ensembles. His straight-ahead playing and compositions swing with fiery and introspective intensity, offer a strong lyrical sensibility, and often incorporate the Middle Eastern influences of his Egyptian-American heritage.  Again, there is no additional charge to subscribers for this concert.  $20 per ticket for non-subscribers.

TIP: Purchase a Family Pass for $150.  That gives 4 people access to the remaining three concerts in the series, a savings of $90 over the single ticket price for four.

You can purchase tickets using a credit card on our website here.

We have had some vacancies open up on some of our coffee hour teams.  This is a great opportunity to support a very important ministry to St Margaret's.  New team members will be placed with experienced hosts.  Each team serves just six times a year.  Duties include putting out food that is already provided, making coffee and cleaning up.  No experience is necessary and no baking is required!  Please contact coordinator Kathy Lang at  [email protected]  or  410-956-9008 if you are interested.
