Carol Rosenthal Announces Retirement

Dear Academy Hill Family,

In 1985, I saw a sign in a waiting room at Wilbraham-Monson Academy. Academy Hill Center for Gifted Children, a summer/weekend school, was about to go full time, and was looking for kids and teachers. I took a chance, applied, and became part of the founding faculty. And I have never regretted my decision. For the last 31 years, I have had the best job ever, working and learning with small groups of bright, motivated students. They have kept me on my toes and they have kept me young.

But now, the time has come for me to put away my plan books and teaching guides. I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I look forward to some time for traveling and relaxation, and of course, for playing with my grandchildren.

While Academy Hill will always be in my heart and I will miss all of you, I know the school is in good hands. Thank you to every member of the Academy Hill community for so many things, but most of all for being part of my life and for allowing me to grow with you.

International Feast Now March 3rd

Open House and "Get to Know AHS" Nights

Academy Hill is pleased to announce that we will host an

Open House

for interested families on

Wednesday, March 15 from 8:30a - 2:00p.

In addition to touring the school, interested families may also make an appointment to meet with the Head of School to begin the application process that day.

Families will be able to witness our Good Morning Show and our Forum programs, visit classrooms in action during the day, and see what makes AHS so special.

AHS families have volunteered to host a series of "Get to Know AHS"

wine and cheese gatherings. The first will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 7:00p.m. at the home of Ronny Priefer and Susan Burke in Wilbraham. If you know of a family residing in that area, and would like to invite them to get to know us in an informal setting, please ask them to

Re-Enrollment Contracts

Reminder from the Business Office:

Re-enrollment contracts have been sent home. Please return your 2017- 2018 re-enrollment contract by Friday, March 10. Please remember that some grade levels are at capacity, and students are waiting for classroom spaces to open. It helps us to make admissions decisions when our current families return contracts on time.

Gala Tickets Now On Sale

The Spring Gala is an annual tradition at Academy Hill School and you do not want to miss it! The 2017 Spring Gala, An Academy Hill Affair, will feature dinner, dessert, a magician, and live music. Over 70 raffle and silent auction items have been gathered for the March 25th event.

Featured raffle and auction items include:

Artwork, jewelry, an instant wine cellar, family fun packages, summer camp packages, huge Lego baskets, Fiesta Dinnerware, gift cards, experiences, autographed items, the list goes on and on.

And don't forget the famous LIVE auction! Guests can bid on items such as "Head of School" for a Day and the Premier AHS Parking Spot (a coveted item during this weather). Or, bid on our new live auction item, "Coach" for a Day. That's right, make P.E. plans for your class and others (with a little guidance) and then spend a day as acting Coach! More details to come.
