Legislative Update
This week we are keeping our eye on SB007/HB007 We may be asked to testify about this bill on Tuesday at 3:30 in the Senate Judiciary Committee. We are lending our voice in partnership with the PD conference.

Bad bills:
SB0682/HB573 - Agg. Burglary ineligible for judicial diversion. BAD. We are against making any offenses ineligible for diversion. Offenses should be considered on a case-by-case bases by the judge and prosecutor. The offense may sound bad, but can include relatively minor conduct.

Good bills:
SB0221/HB4- parole- requires parole board to release inmate who is looked up for a violation due to a new offense to be released if charge is dismissed.
SB0265/HB297- reduces marijuana penalties
SB1245HB418- reduces expungement fee

Upcoming Lawyer of the Day Schedule:

February 7th- Alex Bissell
February 8th- Mark Tribble

We still have a few spots open so sign up here

Check out the Brief Bank section in the TACDL website to find the weekly legislative update.
