Transit Day at the Statehouse

Stop by the Statehouse on Tuesday, February 21 for Transit Day! You can mingle with transit providers and supporters from across the state, and talk to state legislators about your interests and concerns. 


February 21st Agenda:

10:30 a.m. Transit booths open / Advocacy overview
11:15 a.m. Program
12:00 p.m. Lunch before meetings with legislators

Final Council vote is Feb. 27_ Only 2 Council meetings left
Marion County Transit Plan is in the Homestretch

Only two City-County Council meetings remain before the Council determines whether to enact the 0.25% income tax that voters overwhelmingly approved by a 60-40 vote last year.
 
Both meetings are open to the public. We encourage you to contact your Councilor today , attend these meetings and wear orange.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
The Rules and Public Policy Committee, chaired by Council President Maggie Lewis, will hear a presentation and public testimony. Members will then vote on whether to send the transit proposal to the Council on Feb. 27 for final decision.
 
Monday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
The full Council will cast final votes on the proposal to enact the tax.
