Faith and Practice (aka Episcopal 101)
Sundays, February 19 - March 26
Choir Classroom (upstairs above the Parish Hall)

Father Steve will facilitate this six-week class for people wanting to know more about the Episcopal Church and the Christian faith. Topics covered during the course include worship, the Book of Common Prayer, history, polity, Holy Scripture, moral decision making, and prayer. For more information or to sign up, please email Father Steve at frsteve@stchriscarmel.com.

Bridging the Political Divide
Sunday, March 19, 11:30 a.m.
Conference Room (near the office)

Struggling to bridge the political divide? Learn how to walk through our divisive political climate with grace and peace.  In this class facilitated by Mother Jenny, we are viewing and discussing video clips in which author Parker J. Palmer shares inspirational and practical knowledge on how Christians might approach deep political division.

Did you miss the class last Sunday? You can still come this Sunday!  We had thoughtful "bridging" discussions. No need to register, just come.

Music on Main Presents
Indy Brass Choir
Sunday, February 19, 4:00 p.m.

Join us to hear the Indy Brass Choir toot its horns! This ensemble of 30 musicians volunteer their time, talent, and effort without pay to provide music for area churches and to aid local charities. The Choir's membership includes professional and semi-professional musicians and serious amateurs who meet for weekly rehearsals and perform eight to twelve concerts a year.
The choir includes trumpets, trombones, horns, euphoniums, tubas, and percussion.
A free will offering will be collected to support one of St. Christopher's outreach charities, Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank. Please invite your friends and neighbors. Let's fill the church!
Announcing a New Name
We have a new name  for the older children's Sunday class  (for students in second through fifth grades).

The new name is  Godly Discoveries replacing the older names of Club 345 and Weaving God's Promises. The younger children's class will continue to be called, Godly Play.

Could YOU be a Mentor?

We have at least 14 confirmands who are in need of mentors. A mentor does not need to be an expert on the Episcopal faith. Instead, they must be: 1) open and willing to share their faith story; 2) a good listener; and 3) a person with some time to spend with a youth. If you would be interested in working with a young person who is considering Confirmation, please send a note of interest to Kate Bender at kzbender@sbcglobal.net.

Saturday, March 4, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Join us in the Parish Hall for a fun evening of BINGO!  Father Steve will be our BINGO caller and there will be prizes. Bring a dessert to share. We'll supply the coffee and other beverages.

We would like to know that you plan to attend. We'll be taking RSVPs this Sunday and next. Or you may sign up online.

Scout Sunday
March 5, 10:00 a.m.

Sunday, March 5 will be Scout Sunday at St. Christopher's. Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are encouraged to wear their uniforms to church that day, and they will be recognized during the 10 a.m. service.

After the service, all scouts are welcome to participate in programs with snacks and fun learning activities. Girl Scouts will be earning their annual "My Promise, My Faith" pins, focusing  this year on what it means to be "Courageous and Strong" in their faith.  Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, will learn about the twelfth point of the Scout Law, Reverence. The boys also will receive a brief introduction to the Cub Scout and Boy Scout religious awards, which can be worked on at home with their parents.
