Dragon Tales
Weekly Newsletter
Dear St. George Families,
As I am sitting here at my desk, trying to think of something to write about this week, I got it! I'll ask one of the classes, "What and who makes you smile, and how do you make others smile?" ...Ok, I just came back from the K classrooms. Here's what they told me:
What makes you smile?
● When someone sits by me
● When someone cheers me up
● Hugs and kisses
● The sun
● Animals
● When someone helps me when I'm hurt
● When someone smiles at me first
Who makes you smile?
● Mrs. Legendre
● Friends
● My mom
● My brother when he tickles me
● Mrs. Wiggins
How do you make someone smile?
● Say something nice to someone
● Standing up for someone
● Saying "I love you"
Wow! They hit the nail right on the head. The answers they gave me were not learned from a book, they were learned from experience. Children are shown love and in turn they pass it on. They understand, through example, that they have the ability to make someone smile. This understanding will lead them to learning empathy and compassion, becoming more like Jesus every day!...and it all starts with a simple smile. Salvation really does involve loving everyone.
God bless,
Jack Nelson

Our
2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 8th graders are involved with the Backpack program for the Baton Rouge Food Bank. These students are collecting food to be donated to the food bank.
Both drives will run now until Friday, February 24th.
