Healthcare enrollment event set for January 23!
Help Contra Costa County get covered by affordable health insurance
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has made tremendous strides nationwide toward providing health coverage for all of us, regardless of economic status.

But thousands of Contra Costa residents are not yet enrolled. It requires a sustained effort to continue to reach out to all of our communities, especially non-English speaking and lower income communities.

We continue to make progress, thanks in large part to great community partners like the City of Richmond, Healthy Richmond and many others.

They are hosting a healthcare enrollment event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 23 at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium's Bermuda Room (403 Civic Center Plaza).

The event is open to all, and has language and cultural support to specifically assist members of the Latino, African American and Asian Pacific Islander communities.

Certified enrollment counselors will be on hand to determine the best options and navigate the available resources, including Covered California, Medi-Cal and the newest program, Contra Costa CARES, which can help residents regardless of immigration status. I'm proud to have helped lead the effort to enact Contra Costa CARES.

The latest statistics show more than 11 million more people are insured nationwide since the ACA's passage in 2010, significantly reducing the ranks of the uninsured.

We continue to do a great job increasing health coverage enrollment in Contra Costa County, but we still have work to do.

If you have additional questions, please refer to the flier below or call Gabino Arredondo at 510.620.6606.

Free snacks and childcare will be available. Please join us, and spread the word!
Respectfully,
