SPENCER AVIONICS  founder  BILL HEMME  was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award by FAA Team Program Manager Chris Manthe. The award is given to pilots who have shown professionalism, skills and aviation expertise for at least 50 years. 
 
ELLIOTT AVIATION named KERRY OLSON  as project manager, CASEY RITZ as regional sales manager and CINDY STEPANSKI as airframe parts sales specialist. The company also completed its 10th retrofit of a Garmin G5000 in a Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP and second full 400E interior retrofit. The installation was completed in a 1998 Beechjet 400A. 

FLYING COLOURS CORP. received approval from Transport Canada to install ADS-B Out technology on Canadian registered Bombardier Challenger 600-2B16 (604 and 605) and 300 airframes. 

AVMAX purchased one Dash 8-100 msn 472 from Ryukyu Air Commuter Co., Ltd., Japan. 

GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP. recently announced an extensive schedule of customer support events for 2017. 

DUNCAN AVIATION recently launched a program that makes its Engineering & Certification Services available for projects throughout the aerospace industry to include a team dedicated solely to supporting external requests. 

ALTO AVIATION marked its 20th anniversary as suppliers of high-end custom cabin audio and entertainment systems for all aircraft platforms in business aviation. 

JETTECH received approval for an FAA STC for installing the touchscreen Garmin GTN 650/750 GPS/NAV/COMs on Cessna Citation 550B and 560 series aircraft equipped with the Primus 1000 Integrated Flight Control System. 

STANDARDAERO signed a new, exclusive, two-year partnership agreement with Johannesburg, South Africa-based Solenta Aviation Workshop Ltd., to provide a guaranteed LRU, MRO and exchange program to support Solenta's PT6A/PW100 engine operations. In addition, StandardAero was awarded a $45 million (CAD), four-year Royal Canadian Air Force propulsion system maintenance contract. 

GENESYS AEROSYSTEMS will unveil its new helicopter cockpit demonstrator at its booth (No. 8606) during the upcoming HAI Heli-EXPO convention in Dallas. 

PRO STAR AVIATION obtained FAA approval for an amendment to STC -- Installation of Universal Antenna Mount and Lower Fuselage Radome -- applicable to Textron Aviation (Beechcraft, Hawker Beechcraft, Raytheon), B300 (Super King Air 350) and B300C (Super King Air 350C) airframes. The amendment makes the design of the STC more versatile and mission flexible, while improving overall system inspection methods and operations, according to the company. 

CLAY LACY AVIATION awarded scholarships totaling $10,200 to 22 students in the Aircraft Mechanic Program operated at Van Nuys Airport by the L.A. Unified School District's North Valley Occupational Center. 

GARMIN announced EASA approval of the G5 electronic flight instrument for installation in select certified fixed-wing general aviation aircraft in Europe. 

FLIGHTSAFETY INTERNATIONAL promoted EDWARD KOHARIK to general manager, visual systems. He replaces JON HESTER who retired after more than 35 years in the design, development and support of flight simulation products and services. 

AVIATION SPECIALTIES UNLIMITED received FAA approval to conduct commercial flight operations carrying passengers and cargo while using night vision goggles operating single-engine airplanes. 

CONSTANT AVIATION teamed with Jet Support Services to offer aircraft owners a new upgrade program. The collaboration will help JSSI clients meet the ADS-B deadline and for FANS-1/A avionics upgrades. 

WEST STAR AVIATION named DAVID FEUERHAK avionics technical sales manager. 

MID-CANADA MOD CENTER announced that its Challenger 604 FANS STC is now FAA and TCCA approved.
