The Pyramid Society is grateful for the loyalty and dedication of Majid Alsayegh throughout the years that he has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and is pleased to announce that he has accepted the invitation to continue his work on behalf of this organization by serving on the Board of Trustees. 

The  Straight Egyptian All Nations Cup portion of the Kuwait International Arabian Horse Festival will take place at Bait Al Arab on February 17 & 18th. Following the show, farm tours will take place on February 19-21st, providing attendees the opportunity to visit prominent Straight Egyptian breeding farms.

The Arabian Horse Foundation has announced $9,694 in equine research funding for support of projects studying Juvenile Idiopathic Epilepsy (JIE) (a seizure condition that can affect very young horses), and Occipitoatlantoaxial Malformation (OAAM) (a compression of the upper portion of the cervical spinal cord caused by a malformation of the occipital bone of the skull and the first two cervical vertebrae) in the Arabian horse. Th e Pyramid Society is saddened to announce the untimely passing of Gerard "Jerry" Dumas on January 8, 2017.  Jerry, along with his wife Brenda, of Rose of Cairo Arabians in Peralta, New Mexico, first joined the Society in 2007.  Jerry was a beloved member of the New Mexico Straight Egyptian Alliance, and all of the group's gatherings were made much more enjoyable by his engaging wit, charming personality, and fascinating conversation.   Jerry was quick to tell those he met that he was not a "horse person" but was involved with Egyptian Arabians because he treasured his beautiful wife Brenda, and she loved them!  At two of the Alliance's Regional Workshops Jerry was a featured lecturer on the horse business and taxes, and all who were privileged to hear him agreed that he was the finest speaker on the topic they had ever heard.   Jerry will be deeply missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and his family.
