"We have enjoined upon you fasting during a brief period...", Baha'u'llah writes in His Most Holy Book.
Fasting for spiritual reasons is an age-old practice across various religious traditions. In the Bahá'í Faith, it is an obligation set forth by its Prophet-Founder, Bahá'u'lláh, in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas (the Most Holy Book). For Bahá'ís, the Fast lasts 19 days, and is observed during the last of the 19 months of the Bahá'í (Badí') calendar, `Ala'.
Fasting is a time of rejuvenation and spiritual liberation!
Here's a healthy way to make the most of it.
