Attention New London Poets:
The New London Poet Laureate
call for poets is now open!
Application Deadline: February 3
The City of New London has launched a citywide search for
the 2017
New London Poet Laureate. The Poet Laureate will
serve as New London's ambassador for poetry by promoting
and encouraging the appreciation of
creative expression through
poetry and literary arts activities.
The Poet Laureate will write and distribute poems through print, online,
social media and live performances; collaborate with New London Public Schools and the Public Library of New London on events and programs;
present official works at the mayoral and council swearing-in ceremonies;
and provide at least two public appearances in New London each year,
including but not limited to poetry readings, poetry jams, broadcast and
social media.
The Poet Laureate will receive an annual stipend of $300.00,
which will be administered by the Public Library of New London.

Basic Quilting Class

in the book, and is delivered to the library.

Platform to Employment (P2E) helps the unemployed return to work and Connecticut employers find skilled workers. P2E provides a support system of career development tools, career coaching and successful job search strategies.
Participants are eligible for a paid work experience and assistance in finding a job.
